Basehor-Linwood Bobcats tight end Ben Johnson, one of the top tight ends in the State of Kansas, has been offered by the University of Kansas.

Johnson received the offer today by KU after he recently visited the school during the 2012 Junior Day event. The offer was confirmed to KCK Preps by his father this afternoon.

Last year for Basehor, he had 56 receptions for 954 yards and 12 touchdowns. He averaged over 17 yards a catch for Basehor's high-flying offensive attack that was coordinated by Basehor quarterback Colin Murphy.

In a game against Bonner Springs, Johnson had 9 receptions, 185 yards and 3 touchdowns. On defense, Johnson had 57 tackles and two sacks.

Johnson is an athletic player and would help stretch the field, even as a tight-end. He possesses great hands and could create a match-up problem for linebackers due to his athleticism.

He's also one of the top rebounders in the Kaw Valley League for the Basehor basketball team.
