MILL VALLEY 47, Basehor-Linwood 6

The Basehor-Linwood strangle hold on the Kaw Valley League in football is over.

After winning the league three straight seasons, the Bobcats dropped their second consecutive KVL game.

This time, it wasn't close.

Skyler Windmiller, quarterback for the Mill Valley Jaguars, scored six touchdowns on the night and had 369 total yards in the game. The first of his five rushing touchdowns came from 27 yards out.

Basehor-Linwood's offense struggled all night. Basehor was held to under 150 total yards and only scored once - a three-yard touchdown run from Drew Potter.

Tanner Garver was held to just 6-of-17 passing for 87 yards. Ben Johnson had four receptions for 65 yards.

However, the story of the night was Windmiller.

After the Jaguars took a 26-6 halftime lead, an early touchdown pass from the future Division 1 quarterback in the second half put the game away.

TURNER 27, Lansing 13

Turner's opening game featured one of the scarier sights of the football season. Quarterback Paul Berry was taken off the field via ambulance.

Two weeks later, Berry led the Golden Bears to a win.

In a game featuring two winless teams, Turner defeated Lansing for the first time in three years behind Berry's three touchdowns.

He carried the ball for 169 yards for two touchdowns. He connected on a touchdown to DeAndre Fenrick from 46 yards out.

BONNER SPRINGS 24, Bishop Ward 7

In Bonner Springs' own tune-up before a big showdown at Piper next Friday night, it wasn't as easy for the Braves as it was for Piper this week.

Bonner led Bishop Ward by just 7-0 at halftime.

Eventually, Bonner Springs would pull away with a strong 17-point third quarter.

Jared Knerschield had 146 rushing yards in the game, while quarterback Jordan Jackson had 69 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Bonner Springs improves to 3-0 on the year.
