MILL VALLEY 56, Turner 7 - The Mill Valley Jaguars rebounded pretty nicely after a season-opening loss in Manhattan, Kan. Skyler Windmiller had two early interceptions, but recovered to throw for 294 yards and four touchdown passes. Three of Windmiller's touchdowns were delivered to Christian Jegen. Turner actually had the lead early in the game, only to see Mill Valley bombard the Golden Bears with 56 unanswered points. Windmiller's 12-yard touchdown pass to Kendall Short turned out to the game-winner.

WYANDOTTE 56, Harmon 6 - Hello, Kansas City Kansas - Atchison League. You have a new contender. The Wyandotte Bulldogs flat-out dominated Harmon, jumping all over the Hawks early and often. Wyandotte rolled to a touchdown on its opening scoring drive and ended up scoring 29 points in the first quarter. New quarterback Dimonic McKinzy has led Wyandotte to two home opening wins - the first time that's been accomplished for the Bulldogs football program in over two decades. In his third year, it appears head coach Eddie Brown has Wyandotte in the right direction.

St. James Academy 45, BISHOP WARD 0 - The Cyclones dropped their 20th consecutive game and have went scoreless for the first eight quarters of the season. St. James Academy quarterback Jansen Keyes scored four touchdowns on the ground and ran for nearly 150 of the Thunder's 310 rushing awards. St. James led 24-0 at halftime.

Atchison 25, TONGANOXIE 0 - Following Tonganoxie breaking through with a win against Lansing, it was a struggle in the team's home opener. Cole Holloway led the way for Tonganoxie's offense, rushing for 94 yards after a 200-yard performance last week. But it was Wade Gassmann's two touchdowns that helped Atchison pull off the road victory. Gassmann was on the receiving end of a 36-yard touchdown pass from Jared Ross. Gassmann also returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown. Atchison starts 2-0 on the season.

SPRING HILL 41, Sumner Academy 7 - Sumner Academy begins 0-2 on the road after struggling to stop the run. The Sabres allowed nearly 300 rushing yards and the Broncos scored the game's first 34 points in the game. A bright spot for the Sabres was Deon Tripp. He had a 54-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Brandon Williams. Tripp had 91 total receiving yards and also had an interception on defense.
