Game Highlights - Sumner Academy vs Bishop Ward

Sumner Academy didn't explode as I expected against Bishop Ward.  A couple of drives stalled deep in Bishop Ward territory keeping the Sabres to 26 points.

The evolution of the Sabres passing game continues to develop with Jowell Daniels and Deon Tripp both catching TD passes.  Leondre Edwards stuck out as well with 3 receptions, so if a third option is now available things can really get interesting.

While they will have their hands full the next two weeks against Piper and Atchison the Sabres will have some fire power.  Both of their opponents will present a similar mindset of strong defense and an effective ground game.  If the Sabres can strike first then they may have a shot at securing one more win and a playoff birth.

Bishop Ward was gritty friday night and I was impressed with Sophomore Bryan Barnhart who made plays from the QB position as well as the Cyclone's secondary.

KCK Preps planned to broadcast the game thursday night but have learned Metro Sports will be airing the contest.
