Special teams, passing attack leads Sabres to first win

The Sumner Academy Sabres earned their first win of the season, playing an overall good game against the Harmon Hawks.

Deon Tripp put on a show - he had four catches for 121 yards and a reception touchdown. Tripp also had an 82-yard return for a touchdown on special teams. If that wasn't enough, Tripp also had an interception on defense. Combining his efforts, Tripp had about 220 total yards in the game.

Quarterback Brandon Williams put on a strong performance for the Sabres, going 11-of-19 for 248 yards and two touchdowns. He found Jowell Daniels from 52-yards to kick off the scoring for the Sabres.

Andre Faison returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown to help pad the lead for Sumner Academy.

Brian Cobbins scored two touchdowns, rushing for 72 yards on 15 carries.

A Willis Garner touchdown in the opening quarter provided Harmon its first lead of the season. Harmon led 8-7 in the first quarter, but the Sabres poured on 28 first-half points to keep the Hawks at bay.

Quarterback Travis Moore was 10-of-28 for 117 yards and one touchdown. Harmon had 93 rushing yards.
