Sanders' 30 leads way for Bobcats

It's been a week of big performances for the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats.

A few days after Chase Younger nearly put up 40 points, his teammate Tim Sanders had a 30-point game for the Bobcats as they defeated Tonganoxie 69-50.

Along with Sanders' 30 points, Chase Younger and J.P. Downing had double-figure scoring nights, as Younger finished with 12 points and Downing had 11 in the victory.

In defeat, Tonganoxie hung around with a Basehor team that is still without big-man Ben Johnson.

The Chieftains trailed by just 35-30 at halftime and were within six points late in the third quarter.

However, Basehor used a 26-13 run over the last 10 minutes of the game to wrap up its third win of the season - and second straight victory after a tough loss to Shawnee Mission South.

In the loss, freshman Jack Dale put up 17 points for Tonganoxie, while James Grizzle chipped in with 12 points.

Basehor improves to 3-1 on the season; Tonganoxie drops to 0-3.
