Shackelford's 20 points lead the way for Schlagle in 11-point win

The Schlagle Stallions boys basketball team hit the road last night and secured their four win of the season a 49 to 38 over St. Joseph Benton.

"The guys showed alot of character leaving that place with a win last night," said Peyton Leslie, head coach of the Stallions. "We are still very inconsistent on the defensive end and crashing the boards. The guys must realize soon that they must give maximum effort on the defensive end."

The Stallions jumped out on the home team 13-2 after the first quarter - this coming despite the first nine foul calls of the game coming against Schlagle.

I am sure the team is very happy being 4-2 heading into the break.  They will next face my number one-ranked Washington Wildcats on Jan. 8th at 7:00 p.m.

KCK Preps will pursue this as our game of the week.

NOTES:

  • Houston Shackelford had 20 points and 5 assists.
  • Willie Bosby and Deion Wilson added 7 points each.
