Just a reminder about the awards show

During the run-up to our awards show for the football season, there were some questions about it.

With the basketball and wrestling awards program coming up soon, I thought it would be a great time to remind you of the answers to those questions.
  • First, an awards ceremony like this is approved by KSHSAA. Both David Brox and I emailed KSHSAA about it and both of our contacts cleared the football program. There's nothing wrong or unethical about it.
  • Second, our awards ceremony is supported by private funds and sponsors. This is not affiliated with any school district or any public institution. This is being funded solely by David Brox, I and other sponsors, to which we are very grateful for. It's exclusively a privately-supported ceremony, meaning that we don't need to clear it with anyone other than KSHSAA.
  • Third, our awards ceremony is agenda free. We are doing this to support student-athletes in KCK and Basehor. That’s all.
I post this because some of the same whispers about the football ceremony are happening again.

To the coaches and basketball players/wrestlers in Basehor and KCK – this ceremony is legal and there’s nothing wrong it.

Please attend. You will be treated to a great show.

We promise.
